		At IKEA, we believe in being socially and environmentally responsible. One of the many things we do is trace the wood we use back to its origin by conducting wood supply chain audits. In 2006, IKEA foresters in eastern Russia and northern China tracked the wood used to produce JOKKMOKK furniture all the way back to the original logging site. What we found was that there was no illegal logging and that the wood didn't come from an intact natural forest or a high conservation value forest. Wood can be a good material from an environmental point of view - it's renewable, recyclable and biodegradable - but only if comes from a responsibly managed source.
